The days have become dreary for the once-bustling mining haven that was Oreburgh City. After Immortalis had taken over, the gym had been abandoned and the people have been forced to live in poverty. The desperate people tried their luck in the mine, filled with hopes and fantasies that they might unearth some gem or fossil that they could sell for quick cash. It would have only been a temporary retrieve from poverty, as having a job and working was better in the long run when it came to life and income. But these people who were trudging towards the mine carrying shovels and pickaxes apparently didn't care and continued with their quest for fool's gold.
A Skarmory headed towards a high rocky outcropping outside the mine. But before the steel bird could land, its rider jumped from its back and deftly landed on the rocky hill, out of sight and notice from inattentive citizens. The rider's long, silver hair danced with the cool breeze that blew from the high vantage point. Members of Immortalis, however, would recognize the rider as none other than the Demi-Goddess of Steel --- Chrome.
Chrome took out a Pokeball and recalled her Skarmory before turning her red-eyed gaze downwards. Being an experienced fighter and martial artist, she had no problem jumping and sliding through the rocky terrain from the hill where she landed on the way to solid ground. A few people stared, either scared of her appearance or just confused as to why someone like her was here.
Truthfully, it was because she had gotten bored of the training rooms in the various Immortalis buildings in the region. Oh, sure, they were spacious, practically an arena, but they had their limits. It was too artificial, too plain. She would not improve in such an environment. That's why she still favored training outdoors. Nature's unpredictability was perfect for sharpening her instincts and skills.
Paying no mind to the people's stares, Chrome confidently and quietly walked to the Oreburgh Mine. While the coal-mining system that the mine used to have was shut down with the Immortalis take-over and the Gym Leader - also the supervisor - having disappeared, the lighting system was still operational. Lanterns hung along the walls one after the other, providing light to the cave. Several people were digging along the walls, but then Chrome did not come here to look for treasure, so she continued walking towards the deeper area of the cave.
In here, the machinery that was used for mining coal was still standing, though it had gotten rusty and dusty from lack of use. Steel rails and iron support beams hugged the rocky walls. The conveyor belt was permanently stopped, some areas of it half-buried in rocks and dust.
No people were around at the moment, and Chrome was perfectly fine with that. She took out a Pokeball, releasing her other Pokemon, a Scizor. Like her, it had a serious disposition, and was dedicated to getting stronger, and she could not ask for a better Pokemon than that. The Bug/Steel Pokemon only took a minute's scrutiny of its surroundings before it turned to its trainer, ready and awaiting her command.
"Training time," she uttered in her low voice.
In response, Scizor took a battle-ready stance. There were no Pokemon around, most likely hiding, or living deeper in the darkness of the mine. No matter, Chrome decided. There was still a way to train.
"Bullet Punch."
Scizor became a red blur as it rushed towards the rocky wall at high speed, thrusting out one of its strong pincers against the rock. Bits and chunks of rock exploded from the point of impact, but the Pokemon wasn't done. Darting so fast that one's eyes would be strained trying to keep up, Scizor punched the smaller rocks that burst out from the initial punch, getting all of them with its speed until there was nothing but dust in the air. Chrome gave a small nod of approval.
Now this was a training that would push one's limit to the test.
[ooc: Pardon the silly pun-ny title. xD So... What would she call him though... Mr. Striker? Zeke? Hmm...]
