It was such a shame that Veilstone city belonged to Immortalis. He imagined that it was once quite a sight to see - lively and fast paced, dog eat dog as any great city was - but not without a bit of kindness and sentiment at the end of the day. Now it was dark, dreary, an ominous presence lingered every which way and Silver couldn't help but frown at the way that it was now. People didn't look each other in the eye, there was no telling who would be a friend and who could get you thrown in Pastoria's ever growing prison central. There was fear in their hearts here, and it grew more deeply rooted each passing day.
This was why he joined Hydra, to help fight this.
As much as he actively protested for people to be independent enough to look after their damn selves - this wasn't something that even the strongest trainer could fight against. He knew how these things worked, how tight lipped and lock and key things were on the inside. Nothing was sacred or saved, no one was truly at the top of the food chain for long. Immortalis was a noxious mixture of the deadliest of forces and honestly - he hadn't the slightest clue of how to take it down. He specialized in working from the inside, not standing on the outside.
Which was exactly what he was doing at that moment - watching a large cooperate building that Immortalis had taken over. It was once a department store, but now it seemed to be where they did their business with other cities, and did their planning on the higher floors no doubt. If he had his old team he would singlehandedly raid the place, but all he had here was Gyarados - and he would have left him behind too if he hadn't been so stubborn about staying. Weavile had done her job, played her part, helped him see the previous errors of his ways - and he knew the feline deserved a break from the constant struggle.
Gyarados though, wouldn't leave him after he almost drowned back in Hoenn.
He was under the impression that his master needed someone watching over him, to make sure that he didn't end up at the bottom of the ocean one of these days.
Silver didn't have it in him to say no to that.
The two of them had done a bit of bonding, but Silver wasn't the best with forming new relationships, even with his pokemon. Luckily overwhelming gratitude was a delightfully good start, and they both were well on their way to becoming a coherent team. With a bit of training, cooperation from Hydra, and a lot of luck, they would play a part in taking this group of tyrannical loonies down.
First, they just needed a plan of action, and a better idea of just how influential and powerful Immortalis truly was.
"Listen when I'm talking to you."
