CLOTHING STYLE.
due to being one of your typical anime characters, it is safe to assume that frieda is one of those people who is allowed to wear the same outfit everyday of her life without it ever getting dirty, or simply has multiple copies of the same clothes. this being said, she really only has two outfits you'll ever see her wear going along with that of her face claim, unless certain circumstances lead to a differing wardrobe. so what might these two outfits be, you ask? well, to begin with, we have the more flashy and eye catching one. with a color scheme of scarlet, black, white, and some pink here and there, it really suits her general color-theme and the colors she cares for. the outfit itself is something of a sleeveless overcoat, perhaps, splitting off in the front around her mid-stomach and landing in the back around her mid shin. the collar reaches up to the middle of her neck and, like the openings for her arm, is lined in a strip of white fabric. a simple design with a sort of red gem in the center is places just below the bottom of said collar with small white buttons going even further down the center of the outfit. ruffles line the garment from where it splits off in the front and around the bottom of the back. underneath, she wears a hardly visible tank top of sorts - back in color - that splits off a bit at the bottom, and a pleated pink skirt underneath that, as well. thigh-high black socks are covered by red boots that reach up to just below her knees, those having white stripes down the sides, another simplistic design of the same pale color, and some sort of... boot lapels that fold over the top, i guess you would call them. lastly, she has detached sleeves colored pink that reach nearly to her shoulder with black cuffs just above her wrists. yes, none of that made any sense at all. onto the more simple to explain apparel. more casual looking and a lot less stand out-ish, it consists of a muted-teal colored jacket with what appears to be a broken zipper at the bottom with a white and teal striped hood, a black belly shirt underneath, and dark denim short shorts. oh, and i guess there are brown boots that reach up to the bottom of her knees. now that i have done such a horrible job of explaining what her outfits are, you can go look them up yourself. have fun with that.
PHYSICAL STATURE.
ha ha! there was going to be stuff here, but i'm too lazy and you don't even care. just look at the pretty icons and you've got an idea of what she looks like.
Personality
To sum up Frieda in a couple hundred or even a couple thousand words would be a bit difficult, but for the sake of this application and not rambling on too long, I'll simplify it down to fifteen positive traits and fifteen negative. That sound good to you? Alright, here we go.
Frieda is as loyal as a dog at heart. You might not think that someone like herself would be anything close to loyal by looking at the way she generally acts, but once you've befriended her or hold any sentimental value to her in anyway, she'll stand by your side through thick and thin. Never the one to break off any sort of relationship, platonic or not, she won't take anyone else giving anyone she's close to crud, wanting to protect them to the point of getting into needless arguments and fist fights she'll always loose. But it's always worth it in the end, she thinks, to know that she stood up for someone she cared about; better her than them, right? She's an ambitious little bugger, really; while she doesn't really have any huge, specific goals set for herself most of the time, she'll fight until she's passed out on the floor for even the tiny things. Little contests and competitions? Oh, she'll find a way to win one way or another. Always driven to find the light at the end of any path - whether it be something to win or just something to force herself through - she's made it through thick and thin one way or another. While she might seem to hate a lot of contact with... well, anyone at first and be the opposite of a good partner, she's very cooperative, not at all detesting working with another person toward a common goal. She's good at forming and keeping partnerships with anyone she possibly can. In other words, if she's the one to initiate a group effort, you better believe she'll be an amazing partner or group member. If only we could just get her to be able to accept group efforts. In general, she does what is necessary, being able to log off a computer or turn her music off in the instance that she knows she needs to study for something. Which, sadly, is quite frequently. If it comes between sticking up for a stranger on the street or running before she gets thrown into the mix or is caught by an authority and whatnot, she'll almost always do the less-than-smart thing and race into the fray in order to protect the innocent pedestrian. While she usually ends up complaining about bruises and sores the next morning, at least the spared victim is grateful. In the end, while she may do something stupid in order to get positive results, she typically fits into the shoes of the average day "hero". Lastly, she's rather educated. Now, I say this and you're probably thinking of school and books and blah. Book smarts. However, as you'll learn later in the history, it's just the opposite. However, she is rather educated in something closer to street smarts and survival. Due to certain circumstances, she had to take the role of mother at hardly twelve years old and has become very skilled at the art of thievery and living off small amounts of supplies. While these aren't exactly necessities at a place like the school, she still prides herself in them and considers them a positive skill.
Next, we find she's very focused. Remember the whole "log of your computer, put your music down, and get to work" thing from earlier? Let's continue that by saying that, in the instance of study, it is practically impossible to get her to snap out from whatever trance she seems to put herself in whenever she works hard toward something. Any outside noise is forced to the back of her mind, all pokes and whatnot completely missed until someone's slapping her across the face. The raven-haired woman is skilled at "getting in the zone" and usually doesn't get "out of the zone" until she's completed whatever she's set out to do or someone's knocking her off her chairs. Distractions? Ha! Not an issue at all. She's also hard-working, go along with the ambitions and ability to focus so well. Once she's set out to do something, she isn't afraid to work for it. Even little tasks people might give her have her putting her full effort into them. Often times, she'll even go to a point of over working herself and going beyond her physical limit. And, even then, she'll try to continue until someone finally has the decency to come over and tell her to take a break and offer to take up the job for her. Moving along, we also have the fact that she likes to perfect things. She's a perfectionist. Remember that thing we were talking about, like, three sentences ago? No way is she going to leave a job half finished. Heck, half the time she won't even let people do things for her in fear that they'll do it wrong. Drawings have to be perfect, room has to be perfectly messy in an organized sort of way. The only thing she doesn't entirely care about getting absolutely right is her school grades which, in some ways, she couldn't really care less about. She attempts to perfects certain things more than others, in some way letting her raving perfectionism get the better of her or become downright annoying, but she'll always get the job done and the job done right when you need her to. She's realistic in the sense that she doesn't try to let her fantasies get in the way of how things really work. She knows that the chances of her finding prince charming to sweep her off her feet are little to none and that she probably won't get a grade over a low "B" ever in her life. While she is known to shoot some people down with her clear view on the world, her ability to see things as they are is sometimes helpful for helping people to see past their own mind and "goggles", as she likes to call them and see things the way she can. Lastly, she's reliable. Going along with the loyal and perfectionism, if you need her to get you something done and she doesn't totally hate you, dang skippy, she's going to get it done if it kills her. And, if it does kill her, her ghost will come down and finish the job for her. When you need something done for sure and done right, she's the person to go to.
On to part three of the personality section! Yeesh, we've got a long way to go. Anywho, this young lass is what you could call affectionate. Again, something you wouldn't exactly expect on first glance, but you've probably gotten used to that by now. When it comes to people she's well acquainted with, she won't hesitate to show just how much she cares for said person in any way she can. This can range from something almost close to rough cuddling to picking on someone in that friendly, annoying sort of way. In short, if she likes you, it won't take you long to realize it because she'll treat you a whole crud ton better than anyone else who doesn't fit into the "friend", "family", or "lover" categories. Moving along, we find that she is also rather independent. Now, earlier I said that she's pretty good at working with other people. However, just because she's good at it doesn't necessarily mean that she needs the help of others in order to do whatever needs to be done. If anything, she tries to handle as much as she can by herself and, for the most part, doesn't have too much trouble doing it. While there are some things that she has to rely on others to do or help her with - namely her horrible, paralyzing fear of snow and ice among other things - she usually gets by just fine by herself. She's usually quite alert to the things around her, not too easily scared for the most part, as well as being pretty graceful if she really puts her mind to it. Lastly, she is a rather dynamic character, choosing to get in someone's face over muttering profanities at them from the sidelines. If she can fling herself headfirst into any situation, let me tell you, she most definitely will.
While every character has their strengths, they also have their fair share of weaknesses. Now that I've finished drawling on about the positives she has to offer, it's time to wade deeper and into less flattering territory; a place where bad traits shine. To begin with, Frieda has what many would call a short fuse. Yes. She is quite short-tempered. Easily offended and quick to jump at anyone for what it perceived as a threat, she's almost to the point where people insult her for having anger issues. Many things can easily set her off, from the smallest of wrong doings to something ground shattering; you could step on her foot, for example, without a real apology and she'd grow incredibly upset. Also, once she has been thrown into a rage, it is difficult to calm herself down and incredibly easy for her to grow even more agitated than she was previously. Moving on, she is also rather secretive. Whether this is due to a lack of friends to actually confide in or no, what we do know is that she has a bad habit of bundling up everything inside and not telling anyone about anything, really, unless she really doesn't give a crud. The girl, really, has enough secrets stored in her sleeve to write a book about them all if she really wanted to from the tiniest of things - like how she honestly believes she is addicted to pocky - to things that could really get her in trouble or hurt another person's feelings. Sometimes she'll slip a bit and lead others to believe that she knows something they don't, but for the most part, she's pretty good at keeping them hidden from the rest of the waking world. For the most part, she's rather inconsiderate when it comes to the welfare of the general population. Unless it's a life threatening situation involving someone she holds close, she couldn't really care less about the affects of her actions on the people around her. If she can save her own tail in the end of give herself enough entertainment to make it worth the effort of whatever was affecting others, she's happy, injured or broken hearted peers, juniors, and seniors aside. And, even when confronted about it, she usually pushes it off as nothing, doing nothing more than offering a stick of pocky as a sort of apology. Depending on the situation, she sometimes feels crushed by how her own actions impact those around her, but she'll never admit it out loud, anyway. Fearful is possibly her most important trait of all as it is one that basically drags her character around. Fear is something she is horrible at shaking no matter what sort of fear it is and it is what keeps her constricted in terms of what she allows herself to do. Bad events lead her to try to avoid whatever causes them, which leads to her gaining a "fear" of it, which leads to her over-reacting and possibly hyperventilating or passing out in the presence of whatever she has built up an intolerance for. Snowy weather is the best example; put her anywhere near snow, and she'll be on the verge of tears no doubt, if not straight out bawling in public. Lastly for this paragraph, we explore just how rude she really is. Unless you give her a reason to treat you with respect, she's not going to. Spitting on people she doesn't like, deliberately sticking chewed up gum in their hair when she can, and being obnoxious overall, it's no wonder how she doesn't really make too many friends. Her attitude to her superiors is just as bad if not worse. While she never had a problem with her parents and she had to suck up to her teachers in order to get grades above failing, anyone else she treats with utmost disrespect to a point it's almost shameful.
Moving right along, the normally black-clad student has a trait that many could describe as indecisive. Unable to make up her mind on practically everything and typically needing the help of others to come to a final conclusion, it's a trait about her that's really, very, truly annoying. Even when she honestly prefers one thing over another, she usually can't admit it and spends hours upon hours weighing her options. She even wastes so much time thinking of what to eat for breakfast that, most days, she gives up with a bit of a fit and goes without for the day. Moving along she's rather kept back. Now, I know you're thinking, "Dude, that contradicts your dynamic character things from above? What are you doing?" So let me elaborate. While she tries to be out and about and punching people in the faces, there are some traits in here that effect just how much she can mentally let herself do. The trait before this, indecisiveness, is one of these things, her being unable to overcome her own mind being torn between two options, wasting goodness knows how long on little things, and, in the end, choosing neither. Then, there's the trait from even before that with her cowardice that keeps her away from the fifteen foot radius of anything she can't stand in the slightest. Naturally, she's set some unconscious restrictions for what she can do in her life. Next, she's a stubborn young lass as many might have guessed. Never one to be persuaded away from her initial point of view by anyone else's words, she'll fight for what she thinks is correct until she can't come up with anymore coherent thoughts. And, even then, she probably won't admit that she's wrong. In addition, she'll get worked up over the tiniest of little things, like arguments of who ate the last cookie and whatnot. Even if she's not directly involved in an argument, she'll sometimes go as far as to bottom and and argue her own view on the situation. Though, sometimes, this is simply for trolling purposes, she says. We may never know. She's resentful in that fact that, once you have wronged her or anyone she holds close, she will make your life a living torture chamber as best she can and her eternal rage can only be quenched by the powers of time, not by petty little apologizes. Though, she has been known to be swayed in just the slightest by food, particularly pocky. But, in short, if you do something rude, she'll remember your face. Remember your name. And she as heck won't forgive you until she forgets you even exist. The one exception to this rule is when it's a person she's particularly fond of, in which case she'll give them more of a chance the closer to her they really are. If something friendship shattering happens, however, they'll be even worse off than a girl who accidentally spilled chocolate milk all over her uniform. Lastly, she's controlling in some ways. When it comes to cooperation, when you combine that with her stubborn attitude, you get... this. Her undying need to be in charge at all times. This can extend to group projects, stupid little missions, or just her own subconscious. She has literally attempted to be her own conscious down to size, however that works; as you can probably assume, whatever she was trying to do failed. But it feels so unnatural for her to be the one calling the shots after her past before attending Lulim - something she doesn't really like to feel - so she'll try her best to climb up to the leader position whenever she can.
And bam, just like that, we're onto our final paragraph. You ready for these last five points? I hope so, 'cause here we go! To begin with, Frieda is... well, a little immature. Now, she's a little immature in a lot of ways. You know when we were young and we'd laugh at all those silly little words like "poop" and "pee" and profanities I'd rather not explore with you or with anyone else ever. While this isn't the "immature" I'm going for, you can get a giggle out of her by saying stuff like that. Not that she makes a habit of making unnecessary dirty jokes or anything, but her mind's just at that age. But what I'm really trying to get at here is that she doesn't always act her age. At least, I don't imagine she does. Being fifteen myself, I can't imagine myself running around and screaming at the top of my lungs all around a school campus for "fun". In general, she acts just a little younger than she should be, and goodness can it get annoying. And just like that, we're onto her indifferent trait. Oh, yes, that's right. Remember when I was talking about how she really doesn't care what her actions do to affect others? This boils down to her general indifference to anything that isn't mind blowing amazing or makes her want to rip people's heads off. Someone's sick? Whatever. Not her problem. Someone's died? Not like she was invited to the funeral, anyway. Her overall lack of care for basically anything and everything that doesn't involve her or gives her something to complain about is one of her most rude and harsh negative traits, and one that, sadly, shows up the most in her outward and inward personalities. Rolling right along with traits that start with eye, she's also rather... insecure? Was? Bist du verrückt? But, yep! It's true! ... I don't really know how much detail to go into for this. Basically, she's just... super hyper aware of all of her bad traits - especially her fears which she can't stand - and hates it when anyone decides to point them out, even if it is in the most subtle of manners. Anywho, time to wrap this up quick. She's selfish, never wanting to share anything with anyone unless they're close enough to matter to her and she's mistrusting, for the most part, finding it hard to open up to anyone until they're super close to her. And there you go!
History
Frieda is the first daughter of Annette and Damian Marlene and the elder sister of Lorelei Marlene, older by only three years. Their father died when they were still at a very young age, leaving their sickly mother to raise the two girls on her own. However, when the woman fell down with an illness, Frieda was forced to fill her shoes and take care of the family. The cowardly girl watched as her mother slipped away - them being unable to afford the medical services needed to save her - and her younger sister taken from her by the same disease at nearly twelve years old, leaving her orphaned at a young age.
After her family's quick demise at the hands of fate, the red-haired female was sent to live with her aunt, uncle, and younger cousin living in one of the biggest cities in the area - Veilstone City. Remaining bitterness due to the fact the person she loved most in the world, her father, was gone, never to be seen again was not the only source of dysfunction between she and relatives. The two adults, while treating their daughter fairly, were never to fond of the female, her father, or the rest of her father's side of the family. They were overly critical of her mistakes, blaming his "tainted blood" for "soiling" her personality, state of mind, and looks. However, they never failed to provide for her needs, despite the mutual distaste.
She had lived in Vielstone City for around seven years before the Immortalis came and claimed it as their head quarters. While the city remained intact, especially compared to the other cities that the organization had laid waste to, everyone was plunged into fear at being so close to the enemy. Her guardians took for the hills, leaving the red-haired lass behind and in the dust. However, instead of cowering in fear - well, much, that was - she decided to take a step toward making her dream of becoming a hero reality. After discovering Phoenix, she practically begged them to let her join and help take down the bad guys, ya' know? She longed to become one of the leaders, but she would have to do with a member rank for a while.
Rumor said that her father, Damian, died after getting lost in the Ice Path while "exploring", freezing to death in the cold temperatures where his body would never be found. Guessing as the red-haired female was never the most brave, even in her early days, she made it her goal to pass through the cave that had stolen away her guardian in hopes that it would give her courage to face the world alone. Sadly, she, herself, found herself lost in the icy maze. Instead of meeting a frigid doom, however, she was saved by a group of ice-type Pokemon. While she has promised to never raise a Pokemon outside of the ice-type out of gratitude, she has yet to shake her fear of the cold.
